In February of 2008 the very first member of Regan's Motivated Fitness officially joined our gym. However, Motivated Fitness was a concept that was born well before that day. Tom Regan was dedicated to the health and wellness of his kids and their friends since his days of coaching 4 and under Southie Youth Soccer teams. From being the first coach of 4 year olds to incorporate wind sprints for his players, Tom found a love for motivating people to better themselves not just physically but mentally as well. Tom began his pursuit of fitness as a career while still working full time as the general manager of Cheers Boston; He'd teach Martial Arts classes at the Curley Rec Center, he'd teach spin classes at the BAC, he'd shadow Personal Trainers at the local Boston Sports Clubs and LA Fitness Clubs, he was looking for all the tidbits he could get from what was out there in the fitness world. From there, Tom once again resorted back to what initially brought fitness into play for him, his kids.
As Sean, Tom's oldest son, was looking to further his hockey career in high school, Tom started a sports & conditioning camp for him and a group of Boston's youth. This small camp started on the football field at Moakley Park in 1998 with just a few dedicated athletes but grew over the next 15 years to see hundreds of kids from around the city take part in these sports & conditioning camps that became known as "Ripped By Regan." The success that Tom saw his athletes have from these camps further pushed him towards his dream of opening his own gym. In 2008, as a result of years of research and hard work (not to mention a whole lot of gumption to open a new business in the height of the biggest financial crisis since the Great Depression) Tom was able to see his dream through to fruition with the opening of our gym on West Broadway!
Since that first member in early 2008, over 3,500 people have joined our gym and even more than that have taken part in one of our many bootcamps over the years. We love this community that has been built on the concept of motivation, wellness, accountability, camaraderie and most importantly fun!
Since Thomas graduated from college in 2012, he and his father have been a dynamic duo of motivation at RMF. Tom prides himself on being and expert on injury prevention and rehab, with ties to yoga and of course his long time love of cycling both indoors and out while Thomas has come into his own as an amazing group fitness instructor and youth sports & conditioning coach.
Tom and Thomas, father & son/ owner & operators, absolutely love what they do and it shows in the culture that is Motivated Fitness! Please join us in a fun-filled afternoon celebrating the success of not just our gym, but the successes of each and every one of our members, friends, and family over the years!
