Another Long weekend down the drain. I know that, like myself, most of you took advantage of this past long weekend to eat too much, stay out of the gym and over-indulge in all aspects of the term.. The Pats loss was just the Cherry on top of my long weekend Ice Cream Sunday. However, as the saying goes, with every end comes a new beginning. With the end of The Football season, at least as far as we in New England are concerned, the Bruins started their expedited season on Saturday Night and are looking as fresh as can be.
So, I decided to leave my long weekend Blues at the front door this morning when I opened the gym. I woke up an extra 20 minutes early (a 4:25am alarm with an Expletive title), to shovel out my car from all that snow we were expecting....thanks a lot Pete Bouchard.
But now, the weekends over and its time to get back at it. Its 9:00am on Tuesday and I got my first workout out of the way with A 6 o'clock spin class to exercise my demons of the weekend. I suggest you get in the gym and just get that first struggle of a workout out of the way, because I can tell you my mentality has completely changed; its funny how a good workout can turn the anxiety of long weekend withdrawals into the reality and pure bliss of the short workweek in hand.
Get that first workout out of the way and its all down hill from there! I'll resort to another wall quote from the gym to get you started with this short week:
"The Person who moves a mountain begins by carrying away small stones."
Now get to carrying those stones and get back in the gym. While Tom Brady and the Pats may be taking a few months of training off, we normal people don't have that liberty, it's time to get back into that healthy regiment... if not now, When?
