The time is over for gaining weight in the winter time and blaming it on the holidays or "bulking season..." It's a cop out, plain and simple.
Instead, this year take it upon yourself use the 4 weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas as 4 week of progress. It's a perfect time frame for a mini-fitness goal! Having two gluttonous holidays bookending this time frame is perfect too. We get to fully enjoy our Thanksgiving Holiday with all of the stuffing-filled turkey and pumpkin spiced-filled boozes we can imagine before kickstarting our new routine. Then, it's buckle-down time. Four weeks of clean eating and 5-6 workouts per week. We'll be able to stay disciplined with these workouts and meal prep because we know at the end of this 4 week stretch we get a chance to strut around the Christmas tree flaunting all of our results that we earned since the last time we saw these very same family and friends at Thanksgiving! We can bask in the "where's the other half of you" comments from that funny Uncle; or the "You're wasting away to nothing" comments from that Aunt that loves to force feed her guests.
Kickstart your new routine by joining Thomas in a Holiday Weekend Spin & Sculpt on Saturday 11/24 at 10:30am. These Spin & Sculpt classes have had a cult-like following over the past year and for good reason... They are AWESOME! Try it for yourself and I guarantee you'll be hooked!
Then join our 4 week Morning Bootcamp starting on Monday 11/26! This 4 week December bootcamp is exactly the push you need separating your major holidays. In our bootcamps we do everything from yoga to spinning, lifting to boxing, and circuit based work to running. We mix and match each and every workout so that no two days are the same and you leave every hour feeling exhausted but empowered!
How about this year you beat all those commoners who head into the gym on January 1st bright-eyed and bushy-tailed filled with high hopes of far fetched resolutions. This time next month you could be well on the way to a new version of yourself, giggling to yourself as you pass the mass of people waiting at the front desk of the gym looking to start a membership that they won't touch in a month's time..
Change the culture of your holiday season.
The only person standing between you and a better version of you, is you!
